Ahead of the Champions League final against Barcelona at Wembley tomorrow night, Manchester United have travelled to London by train. This photo, in many of this morning’s newspapers, shows Ryan Giggs, Edwin Van der Sar, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville in the first class carriage. Nothing interesting in that.
What did capture my attention was the picnic the players seem to be enjoying. Although it is clear there is plenty of hydration going on, there is also a great deal of snacking which will be of concern to many United fans, myself included.

So, if Manchester United lose tomorrow night you can blame the interesting pre-match routine of some of the world’s top footballers (unless you are Sir Alex Ferguson, in which case you can blame Virgin trains, the attendant with the trolley of goodies, maybe even Nick Clegg.)
If they win, Haribo all round.
